Holiday Inn Hotel And Suites Kent

Enjoyed my stay very much. Staff was very nice and helpful. The shuttle took me everywhere I wanted to go. So many services located in hotel or room.

First asked to sign an agreement that smoking is not allowed with a penalty of $200, then discovered that non-smoking room strongly smelled like a smoking room. Alternative room was not accessible as key card did not work. Second alternative room could also not be opened (by staff). The night manager did not seem too friendly over the phone when I contacted the hotel for a shuttle. When we got there it was ok. The day manager was a credit to your establisment. He helped us and was very friendly. The rooms looked new and since we had a late arrival, they gave us a room that was very close and we did not have to drag out suitcases a block. I don't think I'd take our particular room again, but would give the hotel another try. Avoid the suites - carpets, wall coverings and bath are pretty dated - I wore my socks the whole time. Bed was clean and comfortable, staff was excellent and the included breakfast was better than I would have paid for. Hot tub was excellent. Great staff, and they were very friendly and helpful. I work in a hotel so I have a far more critical eye. The things I didn't like were the dirty linens kept outside the room on the floor while the room was cleaned. I had to walk over them. My boyfriend & I took our kids and two of their friends to a concert at a local venue. The hotel was extremely fun for the kids, it was close to the venue and very clean.
